How much do referees in the Premier League earn?
Some of the Premier Leagues' prominent referees have gone as far as to officiating the World Cup or European Championships, with Howard Webb becoming the first to officiate both events in the same year.
Depending on the level, referees can earn a little or a lot depending on the local football association. For Amateur referees in the UK, pay is usually between £20 ($26.17) and £40 ($52.34) per game.
While semi-professional referees are paid around £80 ($104.69) per game and as well as the mileage they have to travel to the game venue.
Referees at the top of the English football pyramid get paid a regular wage with match fees, and they can earn as much as £70,000 ($91,584.85) per year. They are paid a yearly retainer between £38,500 ($50,378.21) and £42,000 ($54,950.91) based on experience with £1,150 ($1,504.61)per match.
