World Cup 2018 Awards: Who Won The Golden Boot, Ball and Gloves?

The World Cup of  2018 finally came to an end last Sunday with France taking the trophy home after defeating Croatia 4-2. The World Cup is over for another four years until 2022 and Qatar is going to host the tournament.
Awards have been handed to several players for their individual performances such as the award for the best player (Golden Ball), best young player, top scorer (Golden Boot), and best goalkeeper (Golden Gloves).

Golden Ball- Luka Modric  (Croatia)

Luka Modric won the best player of the tournament in the finals after losing to France (4-2).

Best Young Player- Kylian Mbappe (France)

Mbappe has become the second youngest player to score more than two goals in a World Cup match after Pelé in 1958. He is also the youngest player to represent his country at the age of 19.

Golden Boot- Harry Kane (England)

After conceding five goals in his first two games of the World Cup, his first against Tunisia within 15 minutes, and a hat-trick against Panama. Harry Kane has become the second Englishman to win the Golden Boot. 

Golden Gloves Thibaut Courtois ( Belgium)

Belgium lost in the semi-final stage of the World Cup but their goalkeeper was awarded the best in the tournament. Though he recorded clean sheets against Panama and England.

 Fair Play team -Spain

The Fair Award goes to the team with tournament best disciplinary record. Spain recorded only one card throughout the whole World Cup tournament; they also won the award in World Cup 2010
